    It's happened before. Here's how it works. You get warned. Maybe links removed by DMCA. It costs them time and money to issue a court order, get Google to give up ISP information, file in court. If they HAVE to do that, they will sue you where THEY are, forcing you to pay air fare, hotel etc. You will pay court costs when you lose, could pay punitive damages — it's serious.

    Why they don't just remove blogs: if a blog has hundreds of entries it takes too much time. It can take all day because a DMCA to Google requires each individual URL. Saying the whole blog is in violation is not a technical-legal document since the blog might have baby pictures or cartoons or other stuff on it. Have to show the actual violations. Also some rights groups do not act unless THEY are pushed to it by a few song publishers or artists. A lot goes on. Best thing is to stick with bootlegs that were never copyrighted.
